German designer Konstantin Grcic puts a decorative twist on a classic safari seat with the Twain Low Chair (2024). Its solid beech frame is made from interlocking spindles held in tension by a bright strap and ratchet. Two soft strips of leather are gracefully suspended as armrests. The seat and back are made from self-supporting fabric that tilts with the movement of the sitter to ensure maximum support. Two cushions in removable fabric provide added comfort. Grcic originally trained as a cabinet maker, and his expert eye is evident in this clever medley of wood, leather, and fabric. Made in Italy.
