The PK25 Lounge Chair was designed by Poul Kjrholm for his final graduation project at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in 1952. Also known as the Element Chair, it represents his pioneering interest in transforming industrial materials such as steel and rope into poetic yet functional works of art. He set out to use only a single piece of each material: The continuous steel frame is formed from one piece of steel without any joints or connections. Its then woven with an eighty-yard length of flag halyard, or roping. The end result not only catapulted Kjrholms career, but continues to endure today. The PK25s lithe, elegant form is a welcoming presence in any room. Made in Denmark.
