Marcel Breuers MB Lounge Chair (1929) represents part of the architects extensive work using tubular steel, a revolutionary material in furniture construction time of inception. In contrast to the Wassily Chair one of Breuers best-known designs the MB Lounge Chair features a seemingly continuous free-floating frame, simultaneously reflecting both strength and elegance. It combines an upholstered foam cushion supported by horizontal metal springs that provide slight give, along with contrasting wooden armrests.
